Trying to replace the oil pressure switch on a 2005 grand cherokee.4.7L

New switch uses a 1-1/16" socket.

Old switch, which i'm still trying to get out is smaller, the 1-1/16 goes on and spins.
Went and bought a deep 1" socket, it wont go on!
Did they make this oil pressure switch some weird size, or it takes a special socket?

There is no room to get pliers, or vice grips on it, it has to be a socket.

Look up sensor socket. Mine has 2 sizes. Its the rounded corners causing a problem.

This is a sensor for my caravan, its 1-1/16”

Yeah, I just looked it up at Advance auto parts, they have a socket listed as a chrysler 1-1/6" oil pressure switch socket. going to pick it up on my way to work.
Thanks

Buy the socket.
I just changed mine a couple weeks ago.
I screwed around for 3 hours before I broke down and got one.
On top of that, Dakotas have a shroud underneath with an access hole for the oil filter.
Or
Try getting to it from the wheel well.
So, it's not easy to get to.
I think the socket was about $12.
Worth it.
