Just me.

Mike sat behind his first set of drums at the age of twelve but never again untill the age of 34. His first performance on stage came at the Philosophy Shop when Jonathan called him up to set in with the band. Under a lot of pressure and unrehearsed Mike's ear for music and natural ability carried him through and made for a great show. His first band "Storm Front" was a rock band but his love for the blues soon had him switching over. When his son Creed, began showing exceptional talent as a guitarist Mike encouraged him and soon the two were laying down thier own chops. When Mike's brother Danny joined in they were on thier way. The crew was joined by Aaron Johnson and Mark Ussery and the Accelerators were born. Presently the band backs singer/songwriter Angie Owens and are known regionally as Angie Owens and The Accelerators.
Music will always make me happy when I am sad and unsure of my self.
When there is no music to humble my self I go find me a good fishing lake or pond and hunt the big girl down (Bass) I was blessed with some great uncles and father that enjoyed fishing allot.
Sponsored for 3 year's and maid top 28th in the state in 1987 and actually won 1 on lake DeGray in southern Arkansas!! Some top ten's and enjoyed fishing Arkansas know for the last 30 years.
I have two son's and my youngest Jumped in at a good age.

Creed Slater

Current Residence - Jonesboro, Arkansas

Creed Slater started playing guitar at the age of twelve and is making a name for himself already. Eight months after picking up the guitar, he won his first talent contest at Brookland School. Music school for Creed has been playing Saturday night jams in the family garage and watching and picking up tips from veterans such as Jonathan and Aaron Love. He is presently playing lead guitar for the Accelerators. He also plays guitar with an alternative band one night a week. He gets a lot of offers to play lead for local bands. He hopes someday to be playing lead on Beale Street at BB Kings.

He has plenty of family support: his father Mike plays drums, Uncle Dan plays bass, Grandmother Donna (Alley Records) bought him his first guitar and his mother Treva manages the band. With support like this and the kind of natural talent that Creed has he is sure to meet his goals and acomplish things he never dreamed of.

Creed played at Blues fest for the first time this year. in 1982

My oldest son has my first granddaughter and couched and was a teacher
here at our local school. He took the school to there first state championship in 15 years along side his younger brother in basket ball in his senior year.

That's an awesome writeup Mike. I love music, especially Indie. My daughter is a singer, so I know first hand how many ups & downs there is in the business. It's a lot of work & dedication, most love what they're doing, regardless. I actually have a music site I run, in my profile.

Okay on the fishing. I enjoy it too. Music, fishing, cars, & beer!! It used to be girls too, but I'm married.( I still look though)lol.

Oh.. my brother in law was a founding member of Uriah Heep. For those of you that remember. He came to Canada before they made it big (bad move).
