I used to live in a church , converted into a antique shop, where we lived in the original rectory, in Gainesville, Fl. The owners had a model T.So I got involved in that. It had 2 levers on the steering column. One is throttle, the other one is the dist advance.
If you have that advance lever up there, and put the hand crank, in the snout, to start the engine; and advance lever to advanced, that handle will throw you to the ground before you say " ****, I think I'm hurt, and it hit me in the face; teeth still intact?)
Just a passing memory from an old fart. But that car was fun to drive, once you figured out that you had to constantly deal with the advance lever. New dist so much better.
