Nice car. Hope to see it at Bellmore or something next summer.
I've also bought several cars from California. Buying older project cars on the east coast is an exercise in futility these days. I never had much of an issue shipping them out here either. I get the feeling that the drivers don't like to go through the city though (especially the Cross Bronx) and when they hear Long Island they immediately tack on another $100 bucks.
My Duster came from Anaheim. I got it shipped here for $1,100 'enclosed' which was kind of a misnomer since it was only a canvas cover. Better than nothing in February I guess. Took about a week.
