I'm an old timer when it comes to Hotmail. I was a user of Hotmail, since 1996. BEFORE they were over-taken by MSN in 2000. My account right now is one of very few that still exist and in service by them....I am under the original "free" account, I have 1 Terabyte inbox, and have VERY little Spam otherwise but there has been a slight incline over the past 2 or 3 months since that big virus thing with Yahoo..... Nice part is I have the complete protection as tho I pay for the account!!!!! I have done my best to keep that account going because of this.
Now to show a few things on Hotmail I can adjust how and where "new" e-mails come from, I can have them come in to a folder, that I create, and store that e-mail by name within that folder too! I can send anything or any one e-mail to be blocked, such as repeated ones, I can even block/prevent e-mails with specific words in the tittles from getting to my inbox, OR spam folders....I never see them!
I got a lot of account settings that I actually like. Granted, the "new" free accounts do not have this! Nor do they have an account the size of mine, I'm not sure why I got this all but I am not arguing with it..... They at MSN "Microsoft" contacted me some time ago in an e-mail, a legit e-mail with a phone number to call and talk to a rep, and I did.....As it was VERY professional to ask me to, and provide me with info on an offering for being in the top 10 oldest in-use accounts in there system! By doing so, it allowed them to "up grade" remove my old account onto a new server or something machine for memory and they could replace that old out of date equipment and I kept everything, I didn't loose a single e-mail, it merely lost a day of time on my account, so, that "day" I was unable to get any e-mail or anything. which I warned everyone I talked to at the time to NOT send me anything iomportant as I would not get it....
Been loyal up to getting Yahoo account for the "groups" but that, well, I think I'm gonna let lapse, as its a crock of **** to deal with with all the spam, viruses, and God only knows what else is lurking there!
