i got everything unbolted on the k memeber except the torsion bars.. its off the ground and wondering how to release the pressure and if i need to mark them to put them back in later?? and how to slide them out to drop the k member.

So, in order to get the torsion bar out, you need to back out the adjuster bolts. these are the bolts sticking down from your lower control arms. They hold tension on the torsion bars. after you loosen them all the way off, you need a torsion bar removal tool. mount that to the tbar and hammer it backwards. it should come out easily with a few hits.

usually thre are clips at the back of the bars that need removed also. If you try to just knock them out without removing the clips it will make it 10 times harder.

Mine were stubborn, to come out as well.. SO, After undoing the tension on the bars. I supported the Kframe with a jack, undid the 4 bolts, lowered the k frame couple of inches, attached a tow strap to the k frame, other end to my truck and gave a gentle tug till it slid off the bars n fell to the floor. Volia Easy ! BTW Block the Wheels !!!

I did much the same as Eric, but instead of pulling it with my truck, I just put my floor jack under it then tapped back and forth from one side to the other with a 2lb hammer until the K member slid off the torsion bars. :)
Have a look on my CarDomain site and you'll see how it looks comming out.
