Kanter front sway bar?

-

The problems with the ADDCO bar are:
1. The ends don't align well with their shock bolt brackets. End links should be vertical — theirs wind up canted, and very close to interfering with the strut rod.
2. The bracket that attaches to the K-frame is very sketchy. It puts all the load on one bolt through the flange. Most K-member flanges aren't even welded all the way across, and they are not all that stiff. You may find the holes get elongated and the flange gets bent.

Back when ADDCO was the only game in town, I spent tons of driveway time over several years re-engineering their setup to actually work properly. The only original ADDCO piece I am using is the bar itself.

I recommend spending a little more on a properly engineered solution from Hellwig or others.

I am aware of the addco issues, and had a suspicion the kanter bar was a rebadged item. I've been planning on purchasing the hellwig bar and will stick with that plan.

that's a solid play.

the 73~76 addco bar is fine if you've got stock LCA's with tabs. it's not as refined as the others and the hardware kinda sucks, but it's a solid piece.

if you don't have tabs, then the hellwig bar is worth the price of admission if only for the ease of install and avoiding frustration.

FWIW I used the Addco rear sway bar in my 65 Dart and was a reasonably easy install. I paired it with the big Helwig front bar
