I've read a lot on here about the kb167/302 head combo. It sounds like a nice little build with a bit more squeeze and good flow. Just out of curiosity, has anyone run the kb399 domed jobbies with say a small valved 360 or other open chambered head?

The idea is not just the compression. The chamber on the 302 is closed design. So it has a large flat section even with the head gasket surface of the head. When you combine that flat, with a flat top piston, you get the benefits of quench too. An added bonus. The 399 has a solid dome. It will get you the static compression, but you lose efficiency and the anti-detonation benefits of quench.

I run them pistons in my 318. I am running 360 heads milled .035 with 1.88/1.60 and love this combination, I do run high 12's with this combo. My compression is about 10.50.
