I have the Kelsey Hayes unassisted discs on my 68 Barracuda and have experienced the right front brake locking up occasionally. It seems to happen mostly the first time I brake, it doesn`t take a lot of effort to make it lock up, and goes away after I`ve used the brakes once or twice. Does anybody have any ideas what this could be? Has anybody else experienced this?

If the car has been sitting for a while the one or more pistons can seize a stick. It is usually caused by the surface finish (hard chroming? not sure) corroding and starting to flake off. New pistons are in order and seal kits, If you can still get them.

And yes I did experience this on my '70 duster

I rebuilt the calipers about 3 years ago (didn`t replace the pistons, just seals) and I try hard to drive the car at least twice a week. New pistons.................bummer, sounds like another hundred dollars!!
