Kickdown Lever

Can you tie back the kickdown lever and not use the linkage? I heard if you tie it back about 3/4 way it will shift properly you just won't have a passing gear but it will work. Any thoughts?

Also340 mopar, I am running a tunnel ram with 2 4's and I dont have provisions at this time to connect akickdown.

3/4 was what i was told by oldschool racers i knewand it seemed to work pretty good with the holley strip kit in my valve body in a 12 sec car
