66 dart stock car 360/904. the headers may hit the linkage/pivot. If no other choice can I just wire the kickdown lever all the way back? the car will be shifting easy up into 3rd gear till the green flag drops & will stay in 3rd gear. thank you for your time. RR

The short answer is yes, you can wire the KD lever on the transmission all the way back. However, it may not down shift when you want it to. It may down shift hard. It may up shift hard and late. You won't know until you try it, but yes, you can do it.

Not sure if this applies, but TTI has a modification for their head pipes and might work in your situation. The pin and lever on the transmission get narrowed, and the lower rod gets bent a tiny bit. Sorry, no link.
