This idiot is doing well this morning with a rainbow looking nose! It's red, purple and a little darker too! I am amazed how much damage a 4" Porter Cable angle grinder can do to a face in 0 .001 seconds! Here I am having received a good dose of humility!
The wife said I am impersonating Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer!
What a dumb *** I am! I need to hold on better, huh!

I have been re-thinking the removal of my undercoat. I may just go over it since it is so well adhered. They sell pre-filled pouches of rubberized undercoat for the new gun I bought from 3M!
If it's clean you can do that and was thinking the same for my car.

Going to town for a hair cut and pellets for the shop stove that's about 100 miles round trip but no traffic.
Next week I plan on taking out some dents and fixing rust in the scamp. I been talking to a good friend I found on FABO he is helping me figure out what to do with my 340 to make it faster.
I would like to just buy a 360 stroker but not in the budget yet.

There are many who make VERY good power from a 340, bug they say there's no replacement for displacement!
Since I don't have a running motor to start with I will just stroke the 440 block to 512.

I wish I knew more about building an engine Jeff I am as dumb as a box of rocks. I can work on engines but not a clue how to set one up for HP.
Was thinking about stroking my 340 and leaving the stock heads on and not boring it out just leave it at the .30 over that it is. engine doesn't have a lot of miles on it since it was rebuilt.
The guy helping me is like trying to talk to a rocket scientist and not understanding all he is telling me. Poor guy I don't know why he even puts up with me.

For the cost of a gasket set you would know a whole lot by pulling the pan and heads.
You might could just hone the cylinders, inspect/replace the bearings, swap in a cam and lifters and have it feel and act like a bigger motor. There are variables of course!!!!!

I bought the car with the engine set up like it is I took the heads and pan off and 2 pistons out and the engine is on a stand right now. I found the deck height is .8 above deck on one side and the other side is .4 below deck so it has to go to the machine shop and be fixed. every thing else looks good been balanced and heads ported, small 270 cam. The guy helping me I trust and looks like I can just buy a stroker kit and leave the rest alone. That would save me lots of money.
Right now I need to get started on the body work so I can paint it come spring I hope.

There is no replacement for displacement but there are alternatives. Wind that 340 up. solid lifter cam. low gears. shazaam!! Have a great day guys. Got a big day ahead.

I agree with BP 100%. There's a big difference between a spinner and a torque monster.
