Ya, we know the ones that will pop. I did one the other day that I knew would pop but man it was a hard push. When it finally "popped" on me it was loud and scared me a little. It was amazing how much of that dent diapered with one good push. After that is when I suck. That last 10 % takes some serious skills. Or the ones that dont pop. Just a soft crease. I dont know where to start.
I spent 2 and 1/2 hours on the dent that I showed you BP and I know where my tool is if I can keep a steady hand. Florescent lights are the best for me to focus with. grab an old hood or whatever you got and grab a marking Pen and put a dot on the metal then with your tool on the back side push up and slide across you should be able to see it moving. Center it in the dot that you made and push up.
If you can hit the mark that you made you are doing good.
Did that make sense I hope.

Yes that makes sense Fred and thanks for taking the time to explain it. I can PDR little dents. Its those big ones that get all chopped up under the lights that throw me. I understand the "pinch point" theory but after a while I don't know what is high and what is low and it all ends up high. LOL. Plus the patience thing. Some better tools would probably help.

I make my own tools and have better luck with them. I bought a set of whale fins that cost $300 and the first time I ever bought any PDR tools and the last.
I have used screw drivers crow bars and just about anything you can think of to fix a dent. not the tool as much as the steady hand and the light. But I never had any schooling on it.

Mine are all homemade too. I made some from deck lid torsion springs. I have a 5/16 inch thick one inch strap that I can bend around using a receiver hitch. Rounded end that I tape a piece of leather to. I get a lot of mileage out of that.

That's flippin GREAT Sir! I bet that takes a load off your mind!

Has anyone besides me ever wondered what life would be like losing a sense, vision, hearing or a limb, arm, leg or such? Maybe it's because of what my chosen profession was but I saw it happen to a number of folks. Really makes you humble to thnk about what changes it would bring about. I don't know, maybe I am just morbid.
As I mentioned before about my daughter's deafness. Her senses she has left have been heightened. Nature is a wonderful thing but can also be very cruel.

So true BP I was riding my dirt bike when I was 15 and stopped on the side of the road to let the bike cool down and smoke a cigarette when a car pulled up along side of me and one guy in the back seat rolled his window down and ask if I would take him for a ride on the bike. I was kinda shocked because everyone in the car was twice my age but told him yes I will take you for a ride. he jumped out the window and to my surprise he had no legs and was able to get on my bike and we rode for about a 1/2 hour and took him back to his car and talked to his friends and found out he lost his legs in combat. I cried real hard that day and never saw him again but good memories.
Sounds like something you would do Fred. Good for you.

Morning guys. Had a ground blizzard on the way home from work yesterday had a hard time seeing the road.

A good day to stay home I think till it's cleared up anyway.
The wind is blowing pretty hard here still so will go to work when it gets light.
For a Guy that doesn't work any more, he sure does go to work a lot. ;) Beautiful day here. A little chilly but sunny and calm.
You know it's calm when the snow accumulates on hog wire fence. I should have got a picture of that yesterday. Some of the fencing squares were nearly full.

I heard that BP. I have to work to pay for parts for my scamp. Oh and whiskey and smokes. Lol

So Sorry, 58°F, sunny with a light breeze today!

However, cooler, high in the 40s and Winter Storm Warning for Sunday!

This nice weather and I have been busy chasing insurance issues and getting a lump cut off my pretty face. Hurts like hell too!

Gonna get a new carport next week I hope. Upgraded for snow load too!

That lump is a good thing to get rid of. The insurance is secondary. Glad you got it looked after Jeff

Sorry your in pain. Keep us posted on the biopsy. Poor old gal we know has melanoma in her tongue. I didn't realize how aggressive melanoma can be until recently. Definitely a good move on your part.
