Got what I was looking for for the Impala and met a real down to earth upholsterer. I think he is my go-to guy for upholstery stuff and he's just minuets away. No big city stuff.

Teaching my 17 year old son how to weld. He is doing good and just turned him loose to practice and looks like I will need more wire and argon co2 real soon to keep him happy and off his damn phone. lol

Thats cool stuff right there. Do you open the gas valve all of the way Fred? Just about everyone I ask has no for an answer.

No just enough to shield it but not sure what you mean BP.
But he had chili and hot dog last night to so I guess the valve was all the way open. LOL

I knew I'd get at least a fart joke out of that Ha. High pressure tanks like O2 and C02 have a double valve on the tank that should be either opened all of the way or closed all of the way or they will leak a little, Just checking cause it can save gas.
And always open them slow to not damage the regulator.

Yea trying to tell that to my son and he is learning but hard on equipment for sure. I always purge the tank when done welding same with any high pressure system all on and off and purge.
Thanks BP good info.
What did you find to match the package tray in the Impala and not sure what you are doing but I am curious.

Basically its water resistant cardboard. The Impalas is painted and has a little foam and material added where it tucks under the rear seat. I could buy one already made but the shipping is horrible cause it is oversized. This upholstery guy had a piece to sell me. Awesome I don't know much about upholstery though I have hog ringed a few seat covers on. He builds them from scratch. I haven't seen his work other than a wave runner seat he had there. It looked good. Said he just finished a street rod dash seats trunk door panels carpet everything and all and charged the guy 7 grand.

I think we are in the wrong business BP I would think it would be better for us health wise to do interiors.

They sure make it look easy. One of the kids I worked with recently took some interior classes at wyotech he hates doing it. Not sure why. He sure is a smart talented kid. Only one I seen come out of wyotech with a head on his shoulders but I think that was more parenting than wyotech.

I believe that is almost always the case with good ones!

Nice job BP !
Thanks FOG. I have to quit for a while and regain some patience for the final push and polish. I can get a new one for around $350 so I can spend a lot of time on it (them) I didn't do a photo shoot on the other one and one is missing.
