Hey FOG thanks for the wiring diagram got it all wired in and gonna have to put the battery power to the car here soon and see how many wires fry..
That be Fork Peck dam Fred. Its an engineering wonder in my book. It's made from shale and clay. Hungry Horse dam is concrete. 4th largest in the US. It's about 5 miles upstream from my front door as the crow flies. My front door is 11 feet above the 500 year flood plane. Hungry Horse dam has the highest spillway in the world. It's amazing to watch it disperse the overflow through it's "glory hole"View attachment 1715463667 I believe this is hungry horse Sam and I flew over BP nice sight from the air.
Good luck Fred.Hey FOG thanks for the wiring diagram got it all wired in and gonna have to put the battery power to the car here soon and see how many wires fry..![]()

That looks like a young Gene Winfield
Yea maybe when he was younger! He is 92 .That looks like a young Gene Winfield
Yea that's a big basterd for sure.View attachment 1715463728Here is the dam. See the little glory hole on the left? It's pretty exposed in that pic. the water is low.
Not a good fishing hole I would think but could get a hell of a shower. Here is a pic of the discharge from being over full. It's 150000 cubic feet per second. Dam does 25000 on the generator without the overflow.View attachment 1715463734
Would love to show it to ya. That and some other attractions. It's real eerie seeing that dam from the bottom. Driving the top is cool (they call it a bridge) but it's just weird when you drive along this nice little river drive and run into that huge wall of concrete. My Dad helped build it. It is over 300 feet thick at the base. Not a good fishing hole I would think but could get a hell of a shower.
Would be a good place to check out.
I can't find a pic of the Hungry Horse dam's "glory hole" but her is a video of one a lot like it.
I used to have a good video myself.
Your dad did good that's thick enough to hold a lot of water back.Would love to show it to ya. That and some other attractions. It's real eerie seeing that dam from the bottom. If it broke real fast it would be catastrophic for sure. You could kiss my *** goodbye.Your dad did good that's thick enough to hold a lot of water back.
Curious on what kind of damage it would create if it broke.
Kinda figured the valley would be under water real fast and not much warning I guess. If it broke real fast it would be catastrophic for sure. You could kiss my *** goodbye.
I don't know what it would be like on the down river end of the valley but It would definitely suck at my house. We had a hell of a flood here in 1964. That place we first tried to have lunch at this summer was probable up to it's door knobs in water. My house would have been safe. BarelyKinda figured the valley would be under water real fast and not much warning I guess.
I guess I should feel lucky I'm high and dry here but you have a great view there and would guess your tap water is real good.I don't know what it would be like on the down river end of the valley but It would definitely suck at my house. My water is good. Hard but tastes good. Little high in Ph.I guess I should feel lucky I'm high and dry here but you have a great view there and would guess your tap water is real good.
The well water here is real high in salt and some wells have natural gas coming out the sink not real bad but there. My water is good. Hard but tastes good. Little high in Ph.
You blame that on fracking? The well water here is real high in salt and some wells have natural gas coming out the sink not real bad but there.
