I use to be a salesman in a flooring store and was always amazed on how well they could create a pattern in carpet. I guess that's why it's not cheep.
We mainly made carpet tile or 6' all commercial carpet. We also had a print process which was all steam and then the backing line which had 6 ovens. Oh was it hot in the summer.

I can imagine it was hot would have to be a big oven. Bet your glad that job is over. lol

I use to work making forks for forklifts and would have to temper the forks in a big oven. would have to ware special suits to pull the forks out of the oven and put them in a pool to cool them down fast and was also hot even in the winter.
Glad that job is over..

Did you make 6 and 12' booms as well? We used those a lot. I learned how to roll up an end of a carpet without getting off the truck. Could you flip a quarter onto the forks? A neat trick.

We had lots of fun in there but there was a few back stabbers in there as well. Had to keep your back to the wall. Hate working in situations like that. After 12 yrs I'd had enough and moved back to Oshawa.
Seems like the back stabbers are in every job screwing up a good day at work. Pisses me off.

Yea we called them pricks. lol
Working at the carpet store I learned how to do the same neat trick for sure.
You were a good fork lift driver I bet.

I had my moments lol. My last job I had before retiring was in a warehouse. At my retirement party my boss told me he's was going to miss me because I was a good employee and one of the best driver's he had. His jaw just about dropped on the ground when I told him I only had one eye. I enjoyed driving but I think that the narrow isle ones really messed up my left shoulder. Fun times lol

Morning, always nice to sit in on a bs session ,you guys have certainly lived a full life ,I am to much of a pussy to try another job been doing this on for so long , have a great Wednesday.

Had many different jobs Biff from loading and unloading ships to driving semi and jack of all trades and master of none. Wish sometimes I would have stuck with one job and be good at it instead of bouncing around and being half assed.

Don't feel bad Biff , I spent 36 years with Ford Motor Co. You have yourself a great Wed. ! We are suppose to get 3-5 inches of snow. Yuckkkk !

No snow would be nice Mike but I guess no choice.
What was your job at the Ford plant??
I was in machining most of my time there , ran the broach in blocks , That thing was as big as my house , it would come across a cylinder block and shave the head portion and china wall, then on the way back it would plain the oil pan . I also ran CNC in cranks . I rough cut the cranks . Not to many could run them ! New kids would come in and I would try and train them . They would say I'm not doing that. WTF. Go figure!!!:BangHead:

Sounds like they can still use you. That's an out standing job I bet it took sometime to learn to run something that big and do it right the first time.
So you know how to build an engine what a good trade you had.

The job was probably interrupting their internet time FOG.
I started out in the auto glass trade.
Then was a trimmer at a G.M. dealership then service advisor
Back to auto glass when we moved to Belleville so our daughter could go to the school for the deaf there.
Got back into being a trimmer at G.M. and service advisor again.
Got into the carpet factory as shipper/receiver then changed over to fixer/operator on the machines
Moved back to Oshawa and got into Quality Control
Then rest of the time it was mostly forklift.
So got a few shingles on the wall.

They just got worse now especially the left one. I got to the Dr again tomorrow. I'm totally off any of the pain meds now. Just take me out back and shoot me LOL
Sorry Mark but not gonna shoot ya. lol
My sister is in bad shape and uses I don't know what you call it CBD? pot oil? but she says it helps her lots. Not the stuff that gets you high the other stuff.
