Is this just a "local routes" thing, Randy? My brother was an Owner/Operator for years, but he just recently signed-on to a freight company, as he's trying to wind down and doesn't want the hassles of being an O/O anymore. Anyway, according to him they can't find enough drivers to haul freight OTR....
OTR truck drivers around here are having a hard time making bills but that's only what I've heard.

Yeah, I alternate weeks with another driver here in town and Medicine Hat Alberta, a city about 100 miles east of Lethbridge. Long story, but we recently lost a couple of big accounts and are feeling the pinch. I have no desire to do OTR, and I know there is a huge shortage of qualified drivers. My asshole brother had his own tractor at one time and he was always struggling to keep it on the road. I never wanted to be an owner operator in the trucking industry, I was for a few years in the courier industry, it wasn't terrible but it was not going to fund any kind of retirement either.

2nd largest aerospace manufacturer laid me off at 63 1/2 years. 18 years with company. I wanted the last remaining time (to 65) for 401K top off and a nice vacation. Nope. They hit a lot of near retirement guys and paid us a substantial amount if we would sign an agreement not to seek legal recourse. I was happy to get out early tbh. Won't go back to work, having too much fun.
Congrats to you and enjoy the rest of your life

Morning guys.
Supposed to be sunny all day but cooler than it has been.
I go to my Rheumatologist at 9 this morning for my 4 month checkup.
After that my friend and I will go and pay respects to our late friend for the first time.
He was a great mechanic and did all my work. Known him since 1970 when I did the glasswork at one of our local car dealerships. Sure miss him.
Have a great day

Good morning, hope your Humpday is a good one.
Morning, Fred! Didn't "quite" get cold enough for frost at our place this morning, but it was pretty damn close! Wife had covers over all of her annuals overnight, and I brought-in a bunch of stuff from the shed I didn't want to freeze (paint, chemicals, etc).

Winter's a-coming, my friend!

Morning guys.
A cool one this morning and some places had frost.
Felt like 0c (32F) this morning. It will be sunny all day but not that warm.
I got for my flu and RSV shots today. Flu has already started here. A friend has it right now and it's nasty.
We had planned on going to our son's place for Thanksgiving but plans have changed so we went out yesterday and bought a turkey and all the trimmings. Not big on turkey though.
Have a great day

oh no...cold turkey with mayo on a hard crusted ( Lightly toasted) kaiser with lettuce and harvarti cheese.........MAGIC!!!!!!!

Glad we’re not hosting thanksgiving or Christmas this year. Eating leftover turkey, ie pot pie, sandwiches, soup and the infamous wild turkey surprise for 2 weeks after really gets to me. To much of a good thing is bad. Make it a good one guys
