Anyone catch Friday nights video? I love his channel but don't agree with everything that he does. This video, he's working on a 406 smallblock Chevy. When going back together, his main bearing clearance is tighter than he wanted. He has a Harbor Freight belt sander. He takes material off of the back side of the bearings. At 1:28:48 on in the video. I'd like to hear what other people think. I know he cuts corners, but I don't think so.

As Derek himself would say:

If it works, is it really such a bad idea?”

Something like that I would just take for entertainment value and leave it at that. After all, now that all of those Motor Trend shows have been cancelled, he’s gotta do something to generate some buzz….

I did po boy stuff like that to engine bearings once when I had to. Results? Crap oil pressure when hot. Boosted fuggetaboutit
I had a genuine Shirmp and Fried Catfish Po-Boy today looked like this but had twice the fish plus fried gulf shrimp

Ordinarily i'd ignore it but with an engine you are planning to put a blower on, you better have your clearances on point.
