researching info on sway bars, well ahead of a purchase, need one item understood,, on the lower control arms,, some have "tabs" for sway bars, some aparently do not,, guessing the tabs are where the sway bar struts mount,,
if I get a set of LCA's with out the tabs,,,
* guessing I can buy or fab tabs?
** is it difficult to propertly weld the tabs in the correct location? basically is a template or mounting dimensions available?
*** if a template is not available how do you decide where to stick the tabs
**** I want to learn to weld, and have the equipment, but don't yet, so will it be best to get the Lower Control Arms with the tabs?

thanks

Some sway bar kits will come with other ways to mount them if you do not have tabs. Addco uses "L" brackets that mount using the lower shock bolt. You can buy a set of these: http://www.lightningforceperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3596 or you can make some like on this link: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=80282&highlight=sway
I would also suggest using a set of these: http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/coarmstpl.html
They will help keep the lower control arm from twisting or warping from the added stress the sway bar will put on them. I had a set welded on & then took my LCAs for powder-coating.
Hope this helps, this is what I have learned so far.

Here is an ADDCO bar on a 73+ spool k-member with the brackets supplied by ADDCO.

I drilled the hole and mounted with the supplied bolt then welded around the tab.
