lead joint

hey guys i am wondering if anyone knows a good way of removing the lead joint where the roof meets the quarters on the barracuda fastbacks. i have to weld new metal in mine as its rusted out. thanks guys

yea either a propane torch or just use a acetylene torch and just keep moving it around...

hm..just use some shop rags and wipe it off gloves and respirator a good idea? (gotta be safe )

I'm assuming your mean wipe it off with a rag after you heat it? its going to be hot and you risk catching the rag on fire

I used a small propane torch and wire brush, worked good. There is another thread on here about changing a Duster tail panel to a Demon panel, you might check it out.

Propane torch and a wire brush.
Liquefy it and brush away.
You can blue painters tape, then mask starting at 6 inches or so under the seam so the lead does not fall all over the rest of the body if that matters.
