How do you know if the leaf springs need to be replaced or rearched? Mine looked almost straight with car on the ground.

I'm no spring expert. When my 66 Barracuda leaf springs were sagging, I decided to go with new, stock height, heady duty. ESPO springs. Seems like re-arched springs wouldn't last long before they started sagging again.

If the springs are straight, they've certainly lost their arch. You should decide where you want the rear of the car to sit and buy springs that will give it the stance you're looking for. Rearching springs is a total waste of time and money, since a new pair of springs can be had for less money and rearched springs just don't last.

I need some for my Demon as well, Espo's website says 3 months waiting period, Mancini Racing is sold out.
Been looking on Ebay for some Factory type replacements but not sure if they are legit or not.

I had mine rearched by a reputable spring shop well over 20 years ago plus they added a 6th leaf. They were done to factory specs. No guessing on ride height with aftermarket springs. They still have the same ride height with no sag.

ESPO is the way to go... i got their +1" on my car and it sits great..

Have you tried General Spring?

And I'm sure you've measured each year to track any sag. Lemmie tell you somethin. I've done it before. A good bit. I've rearched both with heat and without. It flat won't last. If yours has lasted with zero sag for 20 years, then something is different in your part of the universe than anywhere else.

....and if any of you is hot on rearching leaf springs, come get these. They are 4 pack A body springs. Yours for free. But you have to come get them. You can find out first hand what a short period of time rearching lasts.

I'm not trying to knock any body, this is just my .02.
The addition of another leaf is likely why you're not having sag issues. Think of a spring like a bridge; if it's underbuilt it'll sag over time, if it's over built it will take a lot longer to sag unless you apply greater amounts of weight to it, and if it's massive over built, it simply won't move at all.

So comparing an added-leaf pack to issues with OEM springs isn't really valid. So I think you're both right. Re-arched OEM springs will likely sag again unless you put your car on a diet or park it on a two post lift.

Add enough steel, it'll never sag again! (At least on any human time scale)

Can we please go back to arguing on green bearing threads, now? Please and thanks.

Can't remember if they added a leaf or not, but I had my 67 Coronet leafs re-arched. Raised *** end about an inch.
It's your $$, your car spend how you want.
**edit** Way cheaper than buying new springs as well.
