Project 72 is still ongoing....... MY daily driver is my 53 Dodge truck brought home on a trailer in pieces. It now has almost 22 K on the 318....

Project 53 is a bit deceiving because it has a 47-49 front nose piece. Someone had run this truck hard because the speedo had 93,878 miles on. The B series trucks came with a 2 wheel drive power wagon chassis, flat head 6 with a 3 speed shifter on the floor with a handbrake lever beside the shifter. Its hard to tell in this picture but it is a factory 9 foot bed. This truck was sold as a 126 inch wheelbase 3/4 /1 ton and a old timer told me they were more like 1 & 1/4 ton ton. Another craigslist find as this truck body came out of a barn in Texarkana TX....at least that was the story. I spent 2 years straight on it as it is sitting on a 1991 1/2 ton frame. The 17 inch 2009 (last year for the steel rally wheels) were taken to a machine shop to have the centers bored which fit the 5 lug wheel pattern. 2 years later a front bumper surfaced on E Bay......... Great daily driver runs 80-85 down the road with the new junk.

Many changes to the Duster....including the intake having a by pass put into the intake manifold so my buddy in CA don't beat me up. These are some old pictures but like everyone else bringing them back from the dead takes alot of time and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but makes it all worthwhile during that first ride.

1991 Dodge 1/2 ton chassis bought from a neighbor whom scavenged the first gen body off it for a diesel project purchased for $300.00. This gave Project 53 power front disc brakes, 12 bolt 9.25" sure grip rear end, 30 gallon fuel cell which was a 1/2 ton club cab 8 foot bed truck. The frame was shortened 7.25 " in my shop to create the 126" ...... My wife was in disbelief wondering if I had indeed lost my last marble on the way back from the guys house.
