The license plate light shines directly on the license plate.
Knew there was something I was supposed to do! Sorry about that Terry.. but there ya go ! I'll check my '69 to make sure it's the same...

Light mounted, lens was backwards from mfg . I thought right off the hop that the lens was backwards but wanted to confirm.
