light weight hood hinge springs

I need the lighter springs for my fiberglass hood. I know there's a feller who sells them on here but I need them by tomorrow. I want to but the front fenders and nose on the car tomorrow and Don t want to wait. I thought I read somewhere that you could use the window regulator spring so I was planning on using that. But I can't get the spring to fit over the hinge pin. Is there any other SUGGESTION? I CANT FIND DAYTON LEBARON springs either. Could i heat the original springs so they lose some strength ? Tom not 100% - but I think you can still add the springs later if you do not install the bolt-on inner fender skirts.

I got it! I used the window regulator spring. I just had to grind a little off of the hood hinge pin and then spin the spring around so that I would have to load the spring 1 1/2 turns around. It worked!!
