So I have a spare front and rear bumper for my 68 fish and lifting them with the brackets still attached I am thinking - wow, these are heavy! They sell fiberglass bumpers which are 3# each end and even front brackets.

I am thinking that a guy could fab up some aluminum brackets to attach them and maybe either paint the bumpers body color or the same silver used on the rallys (which I have).

Anybody ever use the fiberglass bumpers and how did you attach them?

Looks like an easy way to shed weight. Speaking of weight, how much did a 68 340 fb fish weigh? This chart shows 2910# and the 67 at 2855#. Wow, no wonder they scoot so well with something under the hood! I need to scare up a set of scales and weigh mine. It will get a race weight hood and after I see how much that trunk lid weighs maybe one there also. Just have to transfer over the one of a kind spoiler the last guy put on.

And no, it isn't as garish as this one... check out the chebby style sidepipes.

I got glass mounts and bumper for the front of my Demon. They afre about 4 Lb all together. Got a glass bumper for the rear too. Was going to bend up some aluminium for the mounts back there. Just going to paint them silver.
Running stock bumpers on my Dart with cut down stock mounts. Used an angle grinder to cut the sides down some and a plasma cuter for the holes. Cut a pond out of each one. I also took the outers off and only run the inner mounts.

Some of the weights I have seen for cars are on the light side. My stock Dart was 3330LB with a full tank and spare tire. 340 4 speed and 8 3/4 rear.
