Friend of mine has a65 sport fury,383,833 4 spd. Trans needs rebuilt. I found a 833 from a Challenger, but was a small block. can we swap bell housings and run it?? how bout tail shafts are they the same?? Any info or problems with this would be appreciated, thanx.

i think the ebody tailshaft sits further back from the rest and with the right bell housing you can switch

It should bolt right up to the big block bellhousing. You might get lucky. The E Body transmission might have two shifter mounting points on the tailshaft housing. The front mounting point is the one where the Fury shifter should mount. The 65 trans probably has a ball & trunion U joint so you'll have to deal with that. Might be able to get a driveshaft from a 66 or later car that's the correct length, or you can have one made.
