Can somebody post a pic of a non-lockup 727 tranny? In particular the input shaft where the torque converter resides. I just want to make sure of what I have.

Hi Jack,

The top shaft is an early one with 19 splines, non-lockup, used from 62-66.
The bottom shaft is the later style, non-lockup with 24 splines. The groove at the end of the shaft designates this as a HP shaft..

This is a typical lockup input shaft with 23 splines. Note the smooth nose on the end.

Hope this helps! :salut:

EDIT: looks like they won't allow anyone to link to them, I'll email ya the pics, Jack.
