I spoke with a Lokar tech guy
Regarding their 727 torqueflite kickdown linkage cable
He’s not sure if his kit will work w a starshifter
I’m running a 6 pack
He also said I might have issues with the manifold bracket for the 6 pack
It will work with a 4 barrel
But I want the 6 pack
Anyone have experience with this situation?
So much for wanting to drop the motor in this weekend

I have a six pack installed temporarily on my 340 with a Lokar cable and a 727.
I had to fabricate a pulley and a primary cable to pull the kickdown cable because there isn’t a lever on the throttle linkage to pull the cable forward while the throttle is opened.
I’ll try to post some photos later on.
My long term fix will be installing a RMVB and not have a kickdown cable or linkage.

Cool
Send some pics
I’m stressed about this situation
It’s really holding me up
If u can send them asap
The tech guy wasn’t the greatest in helping me
What I want at this point is the 4 barrel bracket to possibly figure out if it can be modified
Happy holidays

Here is what I did, I wouldn’t rely on this for long term as I said, I’m going with a manual valve body.
But this does work enough for me to dial the carbs in.
You can purchase the correct linkage for about 350-400.
I’m planning on selling my six pack and keeping a tunnel ram set up.

This is a manual setup so, the fuel lines are on the driver’s side.
I had it on with my other six pack which is a vacuum operated. There is more room for the cables with that.

I know I didn’t really address the question about the Lokar bracket. I have been using one on the tunnel ram but it was easier to use the six pack bracket for what I did.
Send me a pm if you want to talk over the phone.

When all else fails, you can clamp the Lokar cable to the gas pedal.

Signed, the lunatic with a 4.6 Ford throttle body on a slant six.

I just got a bouchillon kickdown setup
Super easy to install
Anybody w a lokar setup throw it away
Immediately
It’s only made for a 4 barrel
Bouchillon works w six pack without any problems

Been using a B&M star shifter on multiple cars for 30 years or more. I can't figure out how the cable operation of the shift mechanism would have any effect on the kickdown mechanism that you would use - while they are next to each other on the trans they are completely different systems that don't have any effect on one another in terms of how they are actuated
