Hi everyone - Sorry I don't have a Mopar car - but I do have a 1964 MG MGB! Anyway I'm on here trying to look for resources about a car my dad had as a young man. I wasn't sure if there was a database to look these things up (painfully manually I'm sure). He had a Silver 1969 Plymouth Barracuda fastback with a 340, manual transmission, the Formula S package, a "340" decal strip running down the sides and I believe yellow interior. Is there anyway to find out how many of these were made in that combination and possibly the VINs?

Thanks in advance!

1969 Barracuda: 31,987
1969 Barracuda Fastback: 17,788
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340: 2,685
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340 manual trans: 1,455
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340 S: 1,431
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340 S manual trans: 1,053
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340 S manual trans, Silver color: N/A (see explanation below)
1969 Barracuda Fastback 340 S manual trans, Silver color w/ yellow interior: N/A (see explanation below)

Regarding the exterior color breakdown, since there was no breakdown by color for 1969 Barracuda's, lets interpolate and make an educated guess based on factual information: there is a color breakdown for 1970 Barracudas. Although the body was restyled, the color, A4 Silver Poly, was still available. Based on the very low production of the A4 Silver Poly cars made for 1970 (approximately 0.8%), The estimated breakdown for 1969 Barracuda, A4 Silver color: 31,987 X 0.8 = less than 256.

Regarding the interior color breakdown, the available interior colors for 1969 did include a yellow/black option (option D6P, yellow interior with black carpet, instrument panel, steering wheel & headliner), but that exterior /interior color combination "was acceptable but not recommended" by the factory (see note at bottom of interior option photo below). So as a result, your Barracuda may have been ordered new with that color combination, as opposed to typically manufactured that way.

Regarding the side stripe: The 1969 Barracuda 340 that came with the Code #A53 Formula S option had horizontal striping and Front fender 'Barracuda' only emblem.

Your Dad's car would have looked very similar to this A4 Silver Poly car with D6P yellow & black interior:
