Hello,
Has anyone seen a trunk lid gas strut mod with a mini tub? I'm looking to see whats out there as far as length of strut and mounting points. Bonus for the job being done on a 67-9 fastback!

Thanks FABO!

64 barracuda has a strut, kinda, when you open it it slides up and locks, to close you lift up and it automatically unlocks and closes.
If you want a gas strut you can get any length you want.

Thanks for the reply B6Pack,
In particular, I am looking for the mounting points on the hinge and weather someone used the trunk floor or fabbed up on the wheel well. It lines up nice if not mini tubbed but not so great with the tub. Right now I'm seeing at the apex of the hinge and where the tub meets the floor as my two points. I would have thought someone has done this already on a Fastback but maybe I'm the first.

Thanks again! I edited what car I'm working on in the original post....Thanks!

Thought I had some pics of mine but I will have to take them tonight and post them once I come in. Im happy with mine however I will say that the trunk stays up on its own an I dont think the wind would push it down once its up in full position but its not strong enough to push the trunk lid up by itself. I'll post pics later tonight when I come back inside to watch Street Outlaws!

I used the same ones for the front hood but they dont have enough power to hold the hood in place. Its assists to make it easy to open the hood but the hood has to much weight so Im going to have to find another solution for the front. But again the back is good for holding trunk deck up once opened. Hope this helps.
