Are all drum brake lower ball joints the same from 62 to 69 on A- body? Looking at picking up a set of Elgin In part # 1181 and 1182 .
Any help would be great
Thanks
Guy

Disc brake lower ball joints use 5/8" bolts and drum use 9/16" bolts.
so if you have disc brakes and purchase the drum brake lower ball joints you could drill the holes to 5/8"

Thanks, i'm sticking with the drum brakes for now. Looks like Moog has the same part # for 62 to 69 but not find Elgin part # online.
Are the disc/ drum the same aside from the bolt holes?

now that i think of it the 9 inch drum brakes may have 1/2" bolts which if aged are prone to failure but i'm not sure.
....wait for someone with more knowledge than me to chime in, or pull a bolt out and check.

go to rock auto & compare the #'s , disc brakes ball joints are slight thicker than drum brake units, for the the years asked,

drum brake units are the same
