I believe its called the adjustable strut,it goes from the lower control arm up thru the k frame and bolts there. Anyways , my engine is out of my 72 dart and I was looking at the K frame and how things connect.I noticed that the drivers side "little rubber hockey puck" ..sorry... that is on the strut after it passes thru the K frame and right before the nut is a different size from the passenger side. Is this normal?? The drivers side is about 1 inch thick,,the passenger side is maybe a quarter inch thick..

They should be the same thickness......probably been changed somewhere along the way.

Those bushing take a beating. Would hurt to put a fresh set in but you need to remoce the lower control arms to do it. Then you may as well put new bushing in them also and so on.
