Does anyone know who makes the flat tappet lifters for Lunati cams? Thanks
Only two flat tappet lifter outfits left in the USA AFAIK... Hylift-Johnson and Johnson Lifter.
I believe the Comp lifters (and Lunati I assume) are made by Johnson Lifter. That may change since Comp Group was bought out recently by the Wall St. outfit that owns Edelbrock. Lunati was not part of that deal.
This is the Comp style lifter without the oil band. I think these will help keep the oilfrom leaking out around the lifter bores. These are what I like to use.

Johnson sez Comp is one of their customers. And they are not Hylift Johnson. Callie's makes solid ft lifters but not for Mopars so they have to be Johnson if they are US made.Even so, I'm thinking that the $166 lifters sold by Lunati aren't made by Johnson then.
Those are the original style dog bone lifters used on the slant six and A engines like the 318 poly. Lighter weight than most. Good lifter.Years back I ordered a Lunati cam and their solid lifters...

The real narrow center worried me. I thought they would result in a loss of oil pressure so I returned them.

Strange design....I never even slipped them in the engine but I suspected that at high lift, the oil would gush right around the middle.
The “dumb bell” lifters are just slant lifters.
Milodon used to market them as “light weight” performance lifters.
They’re actually about the cheapest Mopar solid lifter you can by.
I tried them in a BB once, in the 80’s.
My experience in that motor was almost zero oil pressure.
Swapped to traditional lifters with no oil band...... plenty of oil pressure.
Eaton no longer makes lifters....never heard of the other outfit but my cam guy tells me there are only two outfits making flat tappet lifters in the US... everybody buy from them or overseas suppliers. Is there an issue with the Lunati lifters you have?
There are at least 5-6 different suppliers of flat tappets. Many OEM Lifter suppliers like Eaton and Schaeffler don't sell directly to the consumer.

Your answer is Johnson or Hi-lyft Johnson. Was my OP answered ? seems we drifted off topic?
While were gettin off subject , does any one make a solid roller lifter , that has pressure feed to the roller wheel/shaft , that has no oil band / Would be neat , but I dont see how they could feed the wheel axle.--?????????????I am wondering why some lifters have a parting line near the face(see photo) and others do not (see photo). I was told the parting line is the start of the hardened face. My Lunati lifters do not have this line. what is the reason for the parting line on some lifters?
