Machinist will not build engine unless roller cam is used!

-
Wow it's almost as if buying parts made overseas to save money destroys the domestic market and causes the quality to suffer....

I put a Bullet hydraulic roller in my 273 and used Morel Hydraulic roller lifters and couldn't be happier with it.
Any ticking noise with that set up, I was thinking about going with those hydraulic roller lifters.

Nope, no ticking. Sometimes, the ticking noise with retrofit hydro rollers comes from worn lifter bores in older engines. I had my lifter bores bushed, so the whole shebang is new and working together. The bushings had .040 oil holes drilled in them before install, and that concerned me after seeing the size of the original oil holes. Machinist finally got me convinced it will be ok....lol.

So my 360 built in the 80's with a Comp Cam, lifters, and Timing set (480 lift-230@50 Flat tappet) is very valuable now. It's worth a lot more and only has about 5,000 miles on it.
