Ad in racingjunk.com says you'd need springs and shocks--I'm guessing that means that whoever buys it needs to convert their car to coilovers, right?

Yes this kit eliminates the stock steering box and the torsion bars,A small amount of fab work
will be required.

I do not see anything on the cradle for engine mounts,I had motor plates that attached to the frame.
I had a few universal joints that were fabbed to the steering shaft.
