Figured you guys would get a kick out of this. I have a customer who decided he wanted to upgrade from his iron 346 heads on his existing shortblock. So after I took some measurements and wrote a program for the CNC mill, he has a bolt on head! They will also get a light skim cut with the CBN mill to make the decks flat as they have about a .004" dip in the middle.

Getting cut in the CNC mill-

Look forward to hearing his impressions from the changes. This is in a '65 Sport Fury Convertible that he drives from Wisconsin to Florida 1-2 times a year.

Nice work-just curious though, did you cut the chambers purely to maintain the compression ratio?

Thanks- He has forged pistons that have a .110" positive deck height, so this is the solution to making the Stealth closed chamber heads fit. It essentially is the same as having a flat top piston @ 0.00" deck height and closed chamber heads.
Compression will actually drop .4 from what he had @ 10.4, but he also was looking to be able to cruise on lower octane gas instead of running 91+ all the time and the CR drop and alloy heads will let him do that.

Right on-I wouldn't have assumed positive deck pistons in a big block-cool deal though!
