Hello there guys,
So I’m making some headway with my 67 Dart GT. With a little bit of work and replacing some parts and oil change, I’ve got it started after being parked 47 years! Found my last registration that expired in 1978. I just replaced my carburetor (which I’ve never done) and it’s running and idling, roughly, but running. With an idle, I was able to climb it and put it into gear and was able to move it a few feet to work on it better. Very surprised, but went right into gear!
Anyhow, I’ve never “Tuned” a carburetor, I “YouTube’d” it and got some idea of how to do it…. Any suggestion for a first timer? Replaced it with an OEM 2BBL.

Welcome to FABO, Bigboy.
Sounds like you have yourself a fun project. Post pictures. Maybe even start a thread in Members Restorations, if you haven’t already.
A question like this would probably get more responses in the Fuel and Air Systems section.
About all you should have to do to your carb is set the idle mixture screws (front, down low), and the idle speed. YouTube is probably a good place to learn the procedure. I’m a little busy now, but I’ll help if no one else does.
Oh, keep your original carb. Sometimes rebuilt ain’t so hot. You could probably fix your original carb.

Start with the basics, check spark plugs to see if the are oil or old gas fouled and check the gap. Check to see if the points are gapped properly (.017). Get a vacuum gauge and hook it up to a direct vacuum port on the carburetor and adjust the air mixture screws to the highest settings. Check the initial and total timing to make sure they are on the money.
