Mallory 32 series ?s

I have a 32 series dizzy that uses the magnetic reluctor pickup. When I went to change the advance, I broke the magnet, into 3 pieces, that sits under the pickup. Now I am having trouble timing the engine and am wondering if that would cause this problem.

Thank you for the quick response. Now I know what I have to do.
why would this cause erratic timing, I pieced it together and put back in place.
