Manual brake pushrod length?

I have a question regarding pushrod length. I am converting my 73 Dart over to manual brakes and I just purchased an adjustable pushrod from Mancini. It looks very much like it will fit, however, once installed it will not be possible to adjust it!

Is there a Length that I need to adjust it to? Otherwise, does anyone have any suggestions regarding setting the length prior to installation?

put it in the back of the master, leave the bolt to brake pedal out, bring the brake pedal up to full upstop, loosen up mc mounting bolts, and adjust accordingly. i had to tap about an extra inch of threads on mine.

Hmmmm, that's kinda the conclusion I'm coming to! Looking at the part, I don't think that my cheap Harbor Freight dye is going to do the job. Also, if I thread it I'm going to have to cut it also. Did you have to cut much of the thread pitch?

I'm in OAK alot! What part of OAK are you from?
