Just curious, how have you guys replaced the pitman and worm gear seals on the manual stearing box? Do you use the special tools? I'm not wanting to tear the whole gear box apart right now.

Hi 64bluefish, I have replaced my (lower seals) before. The differance being mine was power and I was able to let the fluid blow out the seals. If I remember correctly there are 3 seals plus a end washer. A internal surclip holds everything up. You may be able to use a set of tweezers (with the end bent) to pry them down one at a time. If not a cheep small seal puller (like a cork screw) will work. I found getting the new ones on, I had to put one up at a time using a deep socket (lightly taping) each until I could put the sirclip back in. The biggest hold-up was droping all the linkage.
