Mark Williams Caps for an 8 3/4

I am going to be rebuilding a 489 center section and was wondering if anyone has any experience using the Mark Williams caps? I had read something about having to have a machine shop install them?

Does anyone know anything about them?

Call them about the billet cap. They are very helpful and good guys. I have used them and know several racers who use them as well. Their website is very helpful also.

This is what you need. go to this link and it will show you what to do.It is not like a main cap on a engine because it has therds for your side to side clearance. It can,t be line honed. http://www.markwilliams.com/servicebull/sb0050.pdf

You don't line hone them, none of them are line honed, they are carefully milled. . . .

I have done the MW caps for high hp apps, if you aren't making big power you don't need it.
