Matco Ball Joint Press

-
At $680.00 not for the average homeowner, enthusiast tool, in his toolbox.
But sure makes life easier, doing that job.

I have used a HF C frame ball joint/universal joint press on three F150"s. For under $100 and all I had to do was to make an additional spacer to pull the new ball joints in all the way.

I’ll tell ya the ball joints on the 2000-2002 ram 2500-3500’s are a PITA, even with the snap on ball joint tool I used.

I always remember my jcwhitney ball joint press. I was trying to change ball joints on my Olds '77 Delta 88. Screwed it down fairly tight and BLAM pieces flew everywhere ! I went into the overkill mode then and got a Snap-On unit. Much, much sturdier. No problem then. I always remember that. Then there's the cheap giant bench vise I got at Sam's !
