No Matrix is the brand. It bonds to paint and you never have to wax.
Don't know about the micro coating but my friend just painted his car and he swears by the matrix products. His first paint job and it looks amazing.

I don't trust it. Can you contact, the local Matrix sales rep? Start there. Their paint products, are very good.
