My wifes CX5 has been shifting extremely hard into and out of 3rd, and 4th gear and sometimes while climbing a steep hill it would do it in 5th. We want to sell it and with this issue we didn't feel we could without fixing it. I had an appointment to have it looked at by a dealer but all I wanted was to reset the computer to the original settings without spending hundreds of dollars. The dealership quoted me $300 for evaluation and reflashing or whatever. Then I found this and after performing the 2-3 minute procedure, the car drives like it did on day one! If you have a similar issue on a mazda with skyactive, try this short procedure to reset its values. Apparently the computer has some stupid adaptive capabilities that goes haywire. Performing this simply resets it to factory set points. I know this is kind of a random topic but if I can help one person it is worth it.
