I was going to put the mechanical water temp gauge in the hole pictured, but it is not deep enough for the long sender. I have a 3/8 x 3/8 bushing that would increase the height, but the probe doesn't quite fit through.
Can these sender/probes on the Sunpro mech water temp gauges be cut or ground down thinner? Is it just solid metal or is there something inside that would be screwed up if cut?
BTW, This is an Air Gap manifold. I want to keep my electric factory gauge and run a mech gauge also so I know what the temp degrees is exactly (plus it shows the temp when the key is off).
Where do others run the extra mech gauge sender/probe?
