Make America Great Again!
Traveled to Tn. from North Texas over the wknd.(800 miles) to meet a fellow member "Lilbadred79" and pickup an A833od trans/bell combo for my 65' Cuda to replace the OEM ball and trunion unit(it sucks). We had been talking about me traveling over there since November of 2014 and finally took the plunge with the original plan being me and the Ol' lady making a mini vacation out of it and hitting Nashville at some point. Left here Friday morning and got there at 11:30pm and after BSing till 3am it was off to bed. Awoke about 7am to have my brother who was a last minute travelmate and fill in for the Ol'lady who got called away on business tell me he forgot some critical medication he had to have (Noooooooooooo!/ Uggggggghh!) Sooooooooo not wanting my bro to die I did the right thing and flipped a coin agreeing to cut the trip short but we still had to pull a trans and I wanted to see all the great Mopar Stuff so after his wonderful better half Donna fixed us a great country breakfast it was off to drooling and drooling and drooling some more. I also picked up a built 727 I needed for my 69' Cuda and an OEM 69' 340 flywheel for the swap as well as an old Donkey and Cart yard art for the garden. I drove the Dart GT (Awesomeness) prior to pulling the trans and after that we had a great Steak dinner and left outta there 7:30pm for the 12 hour return trip home (what the Hell was I thinking) after white knuckling it at 80 mph thru the pitch black nite and starting to hallucinate I finally decided to hit a rest area in Hot Springs, Arkansas about 1:30 am for some badly needed rest.Hour and a half later we were on the road again greeted by about 20 deer as we were leaving the rest area finally making it back home 10:30am Sunday morning......Whew, F this driving at nite ****"and get your sleep people's. I will say Mike's a Super nice and extremely knowledgeable guy who bleeds MOPAR and his place is truly Duster and Mopar Heaven.Took a bunch of pics but respecting his privacy I'm just posting a handful. Couple of pics of us pulling the trans outta his Dart GT and us together, me on the left. Already plan on going back and spending more time as it really sucked having to leave so quickly and on top of being Mopar Heaven it's a really beautiful area that backs up to the Cumberland National Forest.
