Mini starter

When changing over to the Mopar mini/lightweight/Magnum starter, is a started shield required and/or advised?

Both of my cars using the mini don't have the sheild
I can't see it hurting though.

Thanks. I just didn't want to get into the job and find out I was missing something....already have done that a million times with the Dart.

I do not think it would hurt and you never know what you might get.
