missing part?

hey guys my friend has a 72 Dart and asked me to come over and help install the power steering pump... seems like his son took it out and then went out of town. So I thought it was a no brainer since I have a 74 dart.. only thing is they have an extra plate that my pump does not have. Its a triangle shape 3 holes... my car does not have this, and I just don't see where it goes... I guess my car should have one. So any help.
BTW this I guess is a siganaw unit. pump with high filler neck.
