modifying electric choke to manual

I can buy a new thunder AVS 650 carb for my 68 Barracuda for cheap but it's electric. Most of the posts that I have read seem to favour the manual choke over the electric. Can an electric choke be modified to a manual and still use the original linkage?

There is absoultely no advantage or performance gain in a manual choke use. Leave the electric choke on without care or concern over power lost because there is none.

Some people like the manual choke just like a manual trans over a automatic trans. Control over the system is better for some than letting it be done for them.
