I've all but given up on the chromed dash pieces on my 66 Barracuda. All the "rattle can" solutions disappoint...what I know for sure is: they didn't use their product to cover the plastic cap.

I happened to see a "new" product, well, new to me, called MOLOTOW. I spent the money again and gave it a whirl.
It's sold in the form of a "marker" and that makes it difficult to get a beautiful, flat look on broad surfaces. It looks great on lettering and edges. Online, someone used a refill with an airbrush to achieve a better/even appearance of flat surfaces....well, until they come up with a Molotow rattle can...
